About the Indy Tennis League!

Team Witsken Tennis founded the Indy Tennis League to create a league that was for the everyday player. Players who wanted to get in a good match and have fun without all the pressure of playing against the more cut throat players. The league was started as a collaboration with Rick Witsken and several other high level players from around the Indianapolis and suburban area who were looking to gather a group of players for a league that more players could participate in with others who were at different ability levels.

The Indy Tennis League is run by Team Witsken Tennis with Rick Witsken as the league commisioner and various Team Witsken staff helping with the administrative duties of the ITL. Players are welcome to bring in new players to the league and by doing so can earn a credit to their league fees!

The traditional ITL Format is to form teams of players who range in ability and each week have a match with the team filling out their roster across the ability levels. For example, each week a team would field 5 matches in the summer, so at position 1, the team's best players would fill that position and at team 2 the next 2 players and so forth. Captain's are urged to get as many players participating as possible with the use of any team's additional available players acting as subs, to help fill any gaps there may be. In this way, matches in the ITL are competitive and fun!

Play in the summer takes place at several different locations such as Zionsville Middle School, Zionsville West Middle School, Carmel High School and University High School to name a few sites. In the winter, Men's ITL takes place at Carmel Racquet Club on Sunday evenings.
